caring ministry

Everyone has difficult and overwhelming times in life. DS Methodist offers a number of ministries that offer help and support to those who may be going through a challenging season of life.

If you’re looking for additional resources, we have put together the WeCare Resource Guide

  • GriefShare

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone.

For more information contact Sue Heffley at sue.heffley@gmail.com.

If you have lost a loved one through death, please consider joining our new cycle of GriefShare hosted by Dripping Springs Methodist Church. Our group is open to all who have lost someone they love through death.

To join this group, simply go to GriefShare.org and enter the zip code for DS Methodist (78620) in the Find a Group search field. Sign up for the in-person class. We have workbooks available for you.

  • Divorce Care

Healing from divorce is not easy. At DivorceCare groups, people in separation and divorce find tools, teaching and support to help them deal with their pain and give them hope for the future.

If you are recently divorced or separated and are looking for a supportive group to connect with, we invite you to join us for DivorceCare. We meet Tuesdays at 6:00pm via Zoom.

To register for this class, go to divorcecare.org and click on Find A Group at zip 78620. You will be guided to register for our class that begins September 6 and to purchase your workbook through the website.

  • Stephen Ministries

Stephen Ministers are members of DS Methodist who go through 50 hours of care-giving training and then work with supporting our pastors in providing emotional and spiritual support to people who are going through a difficult time such as divorce, grief, hospitalization, unemployment, terminal illness, relocation, chronic illness, or loneliness. If you would like to talk with a Stephen Minister, please contact Ken Heffley at 214-212-1548

  • AA and Al-Anon

AA and Al-Anon provide support for individuals and families of individuals dealing with a drinking problem. There are many different meetings throughout the week in the North Annex building (the mobile home looking building next to the main sanctuary).
