No Church Services this Sunday
Greetings Church,
As you know, Dripping Springs has experienced an unprecedented freeze that has caused significant damage to trees all over our community. Many are without power, and others are short of resources. Our community needs our help.
That’s why, beginning tonight, Thursday, our church will be a warming station for those whose power is out. If you, or someone you know needs to come to the church to get warm, please contact us at 512-894-7123 and leave a message. We will be monitoring this line and will get back to you.
Additionally, this Sunday, instead of meeting together as the church for worship, we will be canceling our services in order to be the church in our community, helping our neighbors who are without power and with significant damage to their properties. Many of us will be taking care of our own circumstances caused by this freeze, but we can also help our neighbors and community in this time of need.
How will this work?
• Our 8:30 am, 11:15 am, and 1:00 pm services will be canceled.
• We will also reschedule our prayer service that was scheduled for Sunday evening.
• We will have the 3:00 pm funeral service for Betty Cobb, as scheduled.
• The church will be open at 8:00 am on Sunday for coffee and snacks.
• Breakfast casseroles and other breakfast items will be made for those who have no power and are unable to get out.
• Email specific needs to dsumc@dsumc.org or call and leave a message on the church’s main phone number (512) 894-7123. These will be closely monitored and we will do our best to respond to those needs as we are able.
This is a unique opportunity for all of us to serve our community and fulfill the call of Christ to love our neighbor. I hope you will join me in offering a helping hand to those in our community with needs.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Adam Thornton
