Immeasurably More: Stewarding a Legacy
Hello Church Family,
As we approach the second week of our stewardship campaign, Immeasurably More, we will be turning our attention to the second theme of the campaign, discipleship. Worship was about how we gather together as the people of God to give him praise and honor, and to celebrate His mighty acts of salvation. We also mentioned that there is a corporate and an individual aspect to worship. On Sundays and also during special services, we gather together with others to celebrate the presence of God, but we also leave corporate worship to offer ourselves as living sacrifices to God in the world.
Discipleship also has two aspects to it. First, discipleship is about putting off the old self and putting on the new self, which is being created in the image of God. It follows that as we are transformed, day by day into that image that we are called to pass on what we have learned to the next generation. On this second Sunday of the stewardship campaign, we will examine the words of the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 4:22-24 and 2 Timothy 2:2 as he discusses the two aspects of discipleship.
Grace & Peace,
Rev. Adam Thornton
