Why is Worship Important?

Does worship matter? If so, why does it matter?

When I say that word, worship, what I mean is the gathering of God’s people on Sundays; primarily but not exclusively. These are important questions for us to ask in order to get to the heart of what worship services really mean for us.

In Psalm 95, the psalmist speaks of the greatness of God and serves as a call to worship for Israel. This psalm reminds us that worship is about something more than meeting some arbitrary attendance requirement or having our desires fulfilled. It is about recognizing the power and majesty of our God.

This week, we will explore how worship connects us to something greater and stands as a witness to the rule and reign of God in our midst.

Grace & Peace,

Rev. Adam Thornton
