Why Should I Submit to Anyone?

In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul writes to them in chapter 5, verses 15-21, concerning how they are called to live. Paul has already spoken to them about living in love and walking in the light, and now he instructs them to live wisely and carefully.

Part of that wisdom is the command that the Ephesian followers of Christ are called to live in mutual submission to one another. Similar to his encouragement to the Philippian believers, Paul envisions a community that isn’t concerned so much with personal ambition, but with selfless service.

This week, as we continue our sermon series, In The Way, we will be looking at the spiritual discipline of submission as a way of life in God’s Kingdom.

Grace & Peace,

Rev. Adam Thornton
