Made for more: Purpose
Nestled under the wide-reaching branches of an oak tree, Dripping Springs Methodist Church began its journey in 1854 with just a handful of dedicated families. Through the years, just like that steadfast oak, the church has flourished. Its roots have deepened, and its influence has grown, touching countless lives over its 171-year history.
Cara Mullen, who, along with her husband Harold, found their spiritual home in this church in 1996, shares a poignant testimony of belonging, growth, and purpose. Relocating from North Texas as a young family, the Mullens were initially drawn to the church by its vibrant children and youth programs. Yet, they discovered far more—a supportive and nurturing community.
It's within these nurturing walls that their children came to know Jesus, were confirmed, and embraced their faith, eventually stepping up as young leaders. For Cara, witnessing their growth was nothing short of a blessing.
As time went on and the Mullens became empty nesters, Cara experienced a profound realization: the mantle of leadership was shifting. Those who had once led were stepping back, making way for a new generation. It was a call to action—time for Cara, Harold, and others of their generation to lead and mentor the next wave of believers.
The church, continually blessed with emerging young leaders, still offers vast opportunities for service, leadership, and purpose. Cara and Harold made an early commitment to contribute both financially and with their talents. Reflecting on this journey, Cara affirms that they have been blessed beyond their expectations.
Her message is clear and inspiring: regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey, you are made for more. With Dripping Springs Methodist Church, there’s always a welcoming space to connect, serve, and grow in faith. Cara’s heartfelt prayer is that you, too, will find your purpose and community within this church, stepping out in faith to discover the divine potential you were created for.
