From Brokenness to Purpose - THe power of Discipleship
Hear the heartfelt testimony of long-time members of our congregation who experienced both separation and restoration in their faith and family. Having first connected with the church during the early days of the Spanish Ministry, Hugo shares his story of stepping away, returning, and rediscovering God’s grace in 2017 alongside his wife. The Mendez family reflect on the transformative power of Bible studies, the healing work of God in their marriage, and the deep fulfillment found in living for His glory.
Now, with a passion for discipleship, they encourage others to share the Word of God with new believers and continue making disciples for Christ.

Hugo:
Hello everyone. I started coming here a long time ago, when the Spanish ministry was just starting. At that time I was young. I left the church and then time passed, and we started coming here later, more or less in 2017 I started to attend again with my wife.
The importance of Bible studies is that at first we did not want to attend them, but when we started to attend Bible studies, there was that change in us, because we can understand that we are saved by grace, that nothing depends on us, but it depends on God. It is He who saves us. He is the one who can help us.
We lived through some situations, My wife as well as I lived through very, very, very strong, very painful situations, to the point that we were separated, because we followed our own instincts, our own way of thinking, but thanks to Him, He was the one who brought us together as a family with our children.
Ale:
Yes, I also feel that in my life, that we did not fill the void that we had, that we simply searched for worldly things to fill this void, like the happiness that one thinks it will bring. Really, what is happiness? Simply the fact that God is everything to us, And, He is the only one who fills us.
Hugo:
Something that I was missing in my life was a purpose to live for. It was a hope for that which God puts in the heart of everyone, in the soul of everyone who needs something or someone to live for. And when I came to the church, first I came closer to God, to the Word of God, He gave me a meaning, He gave me a purpose to live for, which is to live for His glory, for His honor. As human beings, we need it.
Ale:
I feel that it has been a help for us as well as for our children when they come to church, right? Because they wait for the day to come so that we can come here, to be able to gather with their little brothers in the faith, so they can learn and play together.
Hugo:
I’d like that the people who have been discipled here in the Church, who have learned from the Word of God, can share it with other people who are coming, who are new to the Gospel, who have a background in the religion of the country where they come from. It doesn't matter, everyone is welcome here in the Church. And that is what I would like, disciples making more disciples for Christ.
