Pentecost - A Prepared People

Hear these words from our Lord Jesus Christ:

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.”  -John 14:15-17

This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. Coming 50 days after Easter Sunday, it is a day that should be greatly celebrated in the church today. This is the day that God's people received the Holy Spirit that Jesus promised would dwell with and in us. This is literally life changing news for us. The Holy Spirit unites us as the church and prompts us consistently back to Jesus so that we may live a life filled with love and joy knowing that God keeps His promises and will never abandon us.

I ask that you join me this Sunday as we celebrate this amazing news as we discover how this news should change our lives.
