Alive Forevermore

What do we truly expect when we face loss, suffering, or the darkest moments of life? This powerful reflection takes us to the empty tomb on that first Easter morning, where Mary Magdalene arrived expecting to find death but instead encountered the risen Lord.

The sermon challenges us to examine the lens through which we view our world—do we see through eyes clouded by cynicism, fear, and the inevitability of death, or do we see with resurrection vision? The ancient world was filled with violence, disease, and hopelessness, yet something radical happened that changed everything.

When Jesus called Mary by name, her entire perspective shifted. She went from mourning a dead teacher to proclaiming a living Lord. This same transformation is available to us today. The resurrection isn't just a historical event we celebrate once a year—it's a power that actively transforms how we live every single day. We're called to step out of the shadow of the tomb and into resurrection life right now, not when circumstances are perfect, because that moment will never come. Our world desperately needs witnesses who can face suffering, loss, and darkness while still radiating hope. That's the true power of Easter.
