Kingdom of Heaven: Imagine A World Of Gratitude
Hello Church Family!
When is enough truly enough? As we conclude our sermon series, “The Kingdom of the Heavens,” we turn our attention to the prohibition against covetousness found in Exodus 20:17. A covetous eye is perpetually dissatisfied, fixating on what it lacks rather than appreciating what it already has. In Matthew 6:19-24, Jesus addresses this lack of gratitude by shifting our focus from material possessions to spiritual wealth.
In our society, the pursuit of material goods is highly esteemed and valued. This materialistic inclination can often distract followers of Jesus Christ from eternal truths. In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus urges His listeners to resist the temptation of covetousness, or materialism, and instead cultivate a spirit of generosity that arises from gratitude for the blessings the Lord has granted us.
Grace and Peace,
